Membership BenefitsNCA Membership is open to professional, emerging and student artists, collectors, educators, art historians, and art enthusiasts.
Artists’ Programs: Professional artist members careers are augmented by local and national exposure through artists’ forums, exhibitions, workshops, conferences, and lecture series. Students Artists are provided classes and support for their development including: portfolio reviews, scholarships, Master classes, exhibitions, and career workshops.
Member Exhibitions: Member Artist Exhibition opportunities are available to members throughout the state and nationally. Venues include: NCA Gallery, Detroit, MI, Wayne County Community College District, Detroit, MI, CAAS Gallery and University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, Detroit, MI, Brandywine Printmaking Workshop, Philadelphia, PA, and the Arts Council of Fayetteville, NC.
Lecture Series and Forums: Lectures and Gallery Talks by invited artists to discuss current exhibitions, historical and contemporary art issues. The Artists Forum is held monthly at the NCA Gallery.
Education Program: Seminars and Workshops in marketing, proposal writing, resume preparation and networking for artists. Consultants to community groups for arts programming. Consultants to collectors, institutions, corporations, and Student Summer Arts Program.
Public Art: Mural Projects by NCA artists: Campbell Elementary School, Detroit; Highland Park Community College; Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, Detroit; Children’s Museum and the annual Student Summer Arts Program’s Gift of Life/MOTTEP ‘Life Walk’ murals.
